Singapore

Right! This is Singapore. The new country we would start to live in, our new life. It's widely known the city is amazing, full lights and lively, it is true. As soon as I've landed, we were greeted by hustle bustle of city lights and more cars than Brisbane. Ed brilliantly picked our little nest in the suburb called Tiong Bahru. A charming suburb where the 1920's oldest housing estate are located. Those old buildings are stunning and beautiful!

This day apparently Tiong Bahru is a hip and pretty cool neighbourhood, many cool restaurants, famous bakery and coffee, also bars. For a mother, Tiong Bahru fresh market is the best bet. Fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and meat could easily be found at the door step.

Thank you Ed! You rock!

Our condominium called The Regency at Tiong Bahru, located at the very end of Chay Yan St. The view from 10th floor is quite amazing, could have been better from higher floor. We are renting 4 bedrooms apartment, enough each room for everyone in the family.

Our condo is surrounded by cool places such as Plain Vanilla with their signature swing and parked bicycle, Forty Hands, PS Cafe, Tiong Bahru Bakery, Book Actually and many more.

I am easily falling in love with beautiful lanes where some murals appear in between old houses.

Getting to know the area is rather daunting. I can be quite disoriented, even reading google map from Iphone has never been easy. Women can't read map, yep, I am one of them. Less one kilometre away is Great World City where I can find Cold Storage supermarket, Golden Village cinema with massive painting of Rhett Butler kissing Scarlet O'Hara (oh so romantic), Zara and the most important thing for a big make-up sucker like me is Sephora. There is Sephora in a small mall in Singapore!! Imagine what big malls would be! Brisbane has no Sephora yet, so the excitement once I walked into Great World City with Sephora in it, was real!
