A magical place in Malaysia coast

My family undeniably love sun, beach and ocean. We have travelled to different beaches in Koh Lanta - Thailand, Hoi An - Vietnam, and Fiji. We even go to Tanjong Beach in Singapore for getting away from busy city, but having a dip in the beach with tanker ships only 5 km away, is not an option. Ed heard about some beautiful islands in Malaysia coast and to celebrate my birthday as well as Tom finish his NAPLAN test, he plans to go to the closest island from Singapore which is Tioman island. We've booked Tunamaya Beach Resort and Spa because they have better deal than anywhere else on www.booking.com. According to internet, Tioman Island can be reached by an hour ferry ride from Mersing Jetty and to get to Mersing, a small town in Malaysia, is only 3 hours by bus from Singapore. We left Singapore on Thursday evening, little did we know, that period of time is peak hours across the border. Many people who work in Singapore prefer to choose to live in Johor Baru with consequence is facing a long queue in both countries Immigration counter. Took us longer than we expected to cross the border.

Getting to Tunamaya Beach Resort and Spa was quite interesting journey. We left Mersing Jetty early in the morning, not too long until we fell asleep during ferry ride only to be woken up by beautiful marvelous big rocks around the island. A special boat from Tunamaya was waiting for us at the jetty which took us to the resort for 20 minute. The kids were thrilled sitting at the back of the boat, getting splash with water, laughing away. Happy kids.

When we pick Tunamaya Beach Resort and Spa, we have no idea what we were going to get. Turned out the resort has no roads surround it, no access except a boat to main jetty. The view is superb, so magical. Only mountain and ocean, nothing else.

The day we arrived at the resort, the wind was quite strong causing rough waves but the beauty of surrounding still had not budged. The lovely Guest Relation Officer has greeted us in the jetty and we feel like the warmth of the resort already. All the staff at the resort are very nice and lovely. The Spa Manager also explained their promo package which I was probably obviously looking very interested. Spa treatment is definitely on my bucket list.

The resort allocated us in the bungalow with 1 double bed and a single bed. Of course the kids would be in a single bed, because they are small even tho they complained about being in the small bed, sorry kids! We got a surprise with monkeys around afternoon time. Many of them. The staff told that those monkeys were doing the journey from Kampung Tekek to Kampung Mokut through big wire along the island.

We have tried our luck to do snorkelling trip booked through a small travel agent located in the hotel. The scenery is beautiful, ocean water is warm but unfortunately the current was too strong for us to snorkel. Although we had a good time, kids enjoyed a boat ride, sitting in front of the boat and screaming happily when they have got water splash on their face. They are fearless.

We were mostly spending our relaxing time in the hotel's pool, their only restaurant, and their beautiful beach just right in front of the door.

There is a magical place in Malaysian coast which easily reach from Singapore in 3 hours or so and offer you priceless view.
