Homegirl is back 3

One good year leaving Brisbane feels the city itself has not changed, only a couple of new modern glossy buildings that make me in awe. I've been trying to keep my opinion to myself that those buildings are an eyesore, but they are an eyesore. A new bullet shaped government building next to Brisbane river stands tall like it doesn't care about surround it. The Brisbane River with its Riverside entertainment precinct is also still look the same. The Treasury Casino hopefully would keep their beautiful old main building in between The Queens Wharf development.

Spending quality time together with my very best friend, Marsha, always fun, filled with laughter, gossip, adult talks, life lessons, any discussion, drinking sessions and FOOD! We talk a lot about food. Our favourite is roast pork at the Asian restaurant called Jackpot. Which for me, Singapore undeniably has the best roast pork but Jackpot's roast pork is ok for Brisbane's taste. Apart from Jackpot, our favourite place to enjoy drinks and food is The Treasury Casino. Kitty Bar and Ryan's On The Park have affordable cocktails where we can enjoy it while looking at The Wheel of Brisbane over the river. I am a coffee addict and I haven't quite found a nice espresso martini like Kitty Bar or Ryan's On The Park in Singapore. Not yet, perhaps.

The espresso martini at Kitty Bar is divine yet affordable, made from fresh brewed espresso, sugar syrup, vodka, kahlua and it won't break our bank. They put Espresso Martini as their one of signature cocktails list which only costs me $10 including house wines.

The Treasury Casino and Hotel have everything under one roof. Hotel, casino, fine dining restaurants, cafe and bars. Our drinking sessions followed by dinner at the end which took place in Fat Noodles by Luke Nguyen. Fat Noodles serves Vietnamese food with an "Asian Hawker Market" style.

The wait staff who attended our table is very nice and happily chat with us. He suggested the best food and we have ended up with 3 plate of food. They were 60 Degree Organic Egg, Chicken and Vegetable Congee as well as Combination Mi Xiao Gion to share between Marsha and I, yeah I know... we've got bigger eyes than our tummy. How it ended? The plates were empty clean. Splendid night to finish my days in Brisbane before flying back to SIngapore, leaving my girlfriends and good memories. Au revoir.
